TAMPA BAY – The Five-Time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm will appear on the NFL Network Arena Football Game of the Week five times during the 2010 AFL season, announced Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum.
“We are excited to be able to partner with the NFL Network,” said Marcum. “The Network specializes in football and will provide our League an audience of die-hard football fans who watch football year-round.”
Tampa Bay will host three games on the NFL Network; May 7 versus the Jacksonville Sharks, June 25 against the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings and the Chicago Rush on June 2. Additionally, two Storm road contests will be aired; May 28 versus the Orlando Predators and July 9 against the Dallas Vigilantes.
“We embrace football at all levels,” said Charles Coplin, vice president of programming for the NFL. “This spring schedule gives us a weekly live game featuring some players who may eventually play in the NFL.”
The AFL Game of the Week will be aired live on Friday nights from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET beginning April 2 through the league’s championship game in late August. The AFL game on April 23 will be pre-empted by the network’s draft coverage and moved to Sunday, April 25 at 8 p.m.
