Bussey & Williams Head to CFL, B. Jones Returns

OL George Bussey and WR/KR Chandler Williams Signed by Toronto Argonauts,
DB Brandon Jones Returns to Storm

TAMPA BAY –Tampa Bay Storm offensive lineman George Bussey and wide receiver Chandler Williams both have been signed by the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League and defensive back Brandon Jones returned to the Storm, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

“This is a league of opportunities,” said Gooch. “While we have many deserving players, George and Chandler each have earned this opportunity. We are sad to see them leave, but proud to have seen each of them excel.”

Bussey (6-foot-4, 320 lbs, Louisville) started all 12 games thus far in the season and has not allowed a sack. He has also caught two passes for 19 yards. The former New England Patriot has allowed only one sack over the course of the past two seasons.

Williams (5-11, 180, Florida International) was in his first season with the Storm and second on the team with 83 receptions, 994 yards and 17 receiving touchdowns. He also returned 36 kickoffs for 829 yards and three touchdowns. The former Kansas City Chief averaged 23.0 yards a kickoff return, second in the AFL and his three touchdown returns ranked third. Williams had 1,830 all-purpose yards, an average of 152.5 yards per game, good for eighth in the AFL. He also had a total of 21 touchdowns in the season.

Jones, (5-11, 180, Georgia State) a rookie, played in and started two games earlier this season for the Storm. He has 8.5 tackles so far this season.
