Oct 23, 2014

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired defensive back Tim Shelley, announced Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

“Tim is a defensive back that has experience playing indoors,” said Storm head coach Lawrence Samuels.  “He is fast and physical which are two qualities we look for in a defensive back.  He also has the ability to play receiver if his number is called.”

Shelley (6-foot-1, 204 lbs., Fort Valley State) joins Tampa Bay for his first season in a Storm uniform.

The Macon, GA native played collegiately at the College of DuPage prior to transferring to Fort Valley State.  Shelley is a two-way player seeing action at the receiver and defensive back positions in college.

Known for his speed, Shelley was named to the 2008 Midwest All-Combine Team after posting a time of 4.27 in the 40-yard dash.

Shelley spent time with the Spokane Shock in 2014.  He has experience playing in other indoor football leagues.
