TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce the acquisition of rookie defensive lineman Everett Dawkins.

“Everett has the ability to excel in the Arena Football League,” said Storm head coach Lawrence Samuels.  “He’s active on the defensive line and has the agility to get to the quarterback.  He also has experience at the NFL level which will help in his development.”

Dawkins (6-foot-2, 300 lbs., Florida State) enters his rookie season in the Arena Football League with the Storm.  The former Florida State standout started in 41-of-57 games played for the Seminoles, earning second team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in his senior season.  For his collegiate career, Dawkins tallied 106 total tackles, 15.0 tackles for loss, seven sacks, six passes defended and four pass breakups.

Dawkins began his professional career when he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round (229th pick) of the 2013 National Football League Entry Draft.  He has spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
