Storm adds versatility to team

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce it has acquired wide receiver Tristan Purifoy.

Purifoy (6-foot, 205 lbs., North Alabama) enters his third season in the Arena Football League and second with the Tampa Bay Storm.  The two-year veteran appeared in three games for the Storm in 2015, catching five passes for 31 yards and a touchdown. 

The Ellisville, Mississippi native has the ability to play both sides of the ball, making appearances at the jack linebacker position and recording 7.5 tackles on defense for the Storm in 2015.  He began his AFL career in 2014 with the Jacksonville Sharks.  For his career he has caught 22 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns.

Purifoy began his collegiate career at Jones County Junior College before transferring to North Alabama.  He played in 22 games for the Lions, catching 73 passes for 1,041 yards and nine touchdowns.

The team placed jack linebacker Rick-J Hill on inactive reserve. 

Hill (6-foot-1, 210 lbs., Fort Valley State) started in five games this season, leading the team with 25.0 tackles, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.
