TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired veteran defensive lineman Meshak Williams, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.
Williams (6-foot-2, 275 lbs., Kansas State) enters his third season in the Arena Football League and first in a Storm uniform. The two-year veteran played in three games for the Orlando Predators in 2014 before joining the team full time in 2015.
During his time in Orlando, Williams tallied 31.5 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions, two pass breakups, five forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick. He would also spend time with the Cleveland Gladiators in 2016.
Williams began his professional career in 2013 when he signed with the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League as an undrafted rookie free agent.
The team placed defensive back Cortez Stubbs on injured reserve.
