TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce that it has acquired defensive back Arthur Hobbs and offensive lineman Miles Mason.
“These gentlemen are veterans of the game,” said Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch. “We want to see them come out ready to compete and push everyone at their respective positions.”
Hobbs (5-foot-10, 193 lbs., Nebraska-Kearney) joins the Storm after spending the 2016 season with the Orlando Predators. During his time with Orlando, the second-year veteran recorded 3.5 tackles and a forced fumble.
The San Diego native began his professional career in 2012 when he signed with the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League as an undrafted rookie free agent. He would go on to spend the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, making an appearance with the team in the 101st Grey Cup (2013).
Mason (6-foot-4, 305 lbs., Utah) enters his second season in the Arena Football League. He spent the 2015 season with the LA KISS, starting in 7-of-9 games on the offensive line. Mason began his professional career in 2013 with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL.
The second-year veteran began his collegiate career at El Camino Junior College, where he earned Second Team All-Southern California Football Association Honors. The Los Angeles native would go on to find a home at Utah, where he started in 21-of-23 games for the Utes.
