Storm taking advantage of bye week

Today starts the Storm’s bye week, allowing them a small break before their last few games of the season.

Many players think this break will be good for the team and help them get their minds right as they make the final push to the postseason.

While it is a bye week, Storm players will still be training and keeping in shape on their own. The team works out at LA Fitness.  If they’re not at the gym, then you can find them beach training.

“We like to go to the beach and train together,” said James Harrell. “And once we get our good workout session in, we can go have some fun and enjoy the water after.”

Jimmy Gordon also plans to hit up the beach and even incorporate some other fun activities throughout the week too.

“I’m thinking about going to Busch Gardens to have some fun for a day,” said Gordon. “I may go golfing and go to PCI Beach with some of the boys too; just relax and soak up some sun.”

Adam Kennedy is making the most of his bye week, hoping to go to New Orleans this week to visit some friends.

“I like to travel. It’s my passion.” said Kennedy. “New Orleans also has a little piece of my heart after living there the past two years and playing there.”

A big part of this bye week though is relaxing and getting the mind right again.

Kennedy thinks this bye week is what the team needs to get back on the right track and finish the season strong.

“The type of season we’re having can wear on you. Not just physically, but mentally more than anything. I think this break will be good for the team.”

The Storm will look to turn things around at their next game when they travel out west to play the Los Angeles KISS on Monday, July 11. Kickoff is at 10 p.m.
