TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm will host Legends Night on Monday, April 30, as the team plays host to the Kansas City Command on NET10 Arena Football Friday on NFL Network at 8:00 PM.
That evening, the Storm will honor four former greats including three recent AFL Hall of Fame inductees, Sylvester Bembery, George LaFrance and Stevie Thomas, who all were inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame with the Class of 2011. The fourth player honored is long-time Storm fan-favorite and future hall of famer Lawrence Samuels. He will have his jersey retired at halftime of the game.
“The Storm has a tremendous amount of history and tradition that the fans truly embrace,” said team president Derrick Brooks. “We want to honor that tradition and history recognizing the accomplishments of the legends and pay tribute to all of their hard work and dedication to this team.”
The first 5,000 fans to the game will receive a commemorative Lawrence Samuels poster courtesy of GMC. National recording artist and wife of Tampa Bay Rays second basemen Ben Zobrist, Julianna Zobrist, will sing the national anthem. Meanwhile, Dee Solomon, the wife of the late, great Tampa football legend Freddie Solomon will perform the ceremonial coin toss.
Alumni night will also feature throwback pricing at concessions with $1 hot dogs, sodas and beers throughout the entire evening, as well as a performance by 40 alumni cheerleaders spanning from as far back as 1997.
After the game fans will be able to meet, greet and get autographs with all of the legends.
