Week 16 South Division Preview

South Division: WEEK 16

In Week 16 of the Silver Anniversary season of the AFL, the South Division, home of the Tampa Bay Storm, features four games, with two inter-conference matchups, and a South Division tilt between the New Orleans VooDoo and Orlando Predators on Net10 Arena Football Friday on NFL Network.
The New Orleans VooDoo (6-7, 3-1) head to the Amway Center to take on the Orlando Predators (2-11, 2-3) in this week’s Net10 Arena Football Friday matchup. The VooDoo look to extend their win streak to two games, as current head coach Pat O’Hara makes his return to Orlando, the city he called home the previous two seasons. The Predators, coming off a win over the Storm, are seeking revenge after their heartbreaking 68-61 loss to New Orleans during week 11.

The defending ArenaBowl Champion Jacksonville Sharks (6-7, 3-3) take on the Cleveland Gladiators (6-7, 3-2), with the hope of breaking their current two game losing streak. Meanwhile the Gladiators, on a current four game skid, could see their playoff hopes shattered if they do not come away with a win over the Sharks.

The Tampa Bay Storm (6-7, 3-4) play host to the San Antonio Talons (10-3, 3-0) at the Tampa Bay Times Forum this week. The Storm look to remain undefeated at home with a victory over the Talons. Meanwhile, San Antonio would take over the #1 seed in the National Conference with a victory over the Storm, and an Arizona Rattlers loss to the Milwaukee Mustangs.

The Georgia Force (7-7, 3-3) will open the doors of The Gwinnett Center and welcome the Utah Blaze (9-5, 3-2). Georgia, coming off a loss to the Philadelphia Soul last week, is on top of the South Division standings, and can stay there with a win over the Blaze. Utah, clinging to the fourth and final playoff spot in the National Conference, would capture their first winning season in franchise history with a win over the Force.
